Post # 9: Consistency, Gratitude, and Glow-Up: A Day in My Life

September 7, 2024 · In: Faith, Lifestyle, Wellness

Olá, Glowupers!

Today was a peaceful and joyous day, filled with good vibes from the start. I woke up early, around 6:30 a.m., and everyone was already up and moving into my house. After my morning weigh-in, I felt an extra boost of energy because, guess what—I officially hit my first milestone! I’m at 129 pounds! Yayy! 🎉 To celebrate, I’m thinking about baking a low-carb, sugar-free cake as a little reward for this progress. Nothing feels better than seeing the results when you’re working so hard toward a goal like weight loss.

After that small celebration, I decided to head out for a morning walk with my son. Even though he’s 5 now, I still take him in his stroller. It’s something we’ve done since he was a baby, and I cherish that bonding time. I love walking with him, just us, enjoying the peaceful morning together. We started by heading to Sprouts Grocery Store near our house. It was around 7 a.m., and they had just opened. Even though today was Friday, my son didn’t have school, so we had the whole day ahead of us.

People at the store were asking if he was off to school, but nope, we were just enjoying our morning together! I only grabbed a few items—mostly lactose-free dairy products because I’ve been cutting out sugar and many carbs, but I still keep dairy in my diet. I picked up some lactose-free yogurt, cream cheese, and half-and-half. I’ve already stocked up on lactose-free butter, milk, sour cream, and cheese at home. Thankfully, it’s been easier to find these products lately, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything while staying on track with my health goals.

After Sprouts, we walked to Target. I picked up some Quest bars to prepare for the upcoming week since I’ll be super busy with a website project and managing the house. I know I might not have as much time to cook, but even when I’m swamped, cooking remains a priority for me. I’ll find the time somehow!

The walk with my son lasted about an hour and a half, and it was pure joy. There’s something about these moments that fill my heart with gratitude. After we got back home, I did my usual floor exercises. It usually takes about 40 minutes, and it’s a routine I’ve been doing for almost 20 years now! It’s funny how it’s stayed so consistent, but that’s what matters—consistency. It relaxes me, and no matter how busy life gets, I always make sure to fit it in.

On top of all this, my entire day has been filled with worship and gratitude. As I sit here writing this post, I feel deeply thankful to God and Jesus Christ for everything He’s done in my life. It’s incredible how much has changed since I decided to spend my whole day with God. There was a time when I’d only give a few minutes to thank Him or say a quick prayer, but I realize now how distant that relationship was. Even then, I was blessed and protected, but I didn’t fully understand just how close God wanted to be to me.

Now, my days are rooted in faith, and I can see things so clearly. Looking back, I can see how misguided some of my old desires were—how disconnected they were from God’s purpose for my life. The things I once chased after don’t even make sense to me anymore. Having this new awareness of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit has transformed me into the person I was meant to be all along. This spiritual glow-up is something I’m beyond grateful for.

So, that’s it for today, Glowupers! Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. I hope my reflections inspire you on your own glow-up journey, whether it’s physical, mental, or spiritual. Let’s keep lifting each other up and celebrating each milestone, big or small.

Please leave a comment below to share your thoughts and experiences. I appreciate you all so much, and I can’t wait to hear how your journey is unfolding!

Until next time! 🌟
